MARRIED THOUGH ILL.
Wedding Was Proceeded With, Though It Was Feared It Would To Be Postponed. The marriage took place yesterday afternoon of Mr. Neil W. Renwick to Miss Myrtle McVeigh. The groom is a former Ottawan but now resides in Winnipeg. He arrived in the city a few days ago but most unfortunately was taken ill and was confined to bed at his hotel. For a time typhoid fever was threatened and it was feared that the wedding, which had been announced for ten o'clock yesterday would have to be postponed. Mr. Renwick, however, was considerably improved yesterday and it was decided to proceed with the ceremony. He was removed from his hotel to the home of the bride. Osgoode street, where Rev. J. T. Pitcher, pastor of Eastern Methodist church, tied the nuptial knot in the presence of immediate relatives. Mr. Renwick was up throughout the ceremony, Which was curtailed as wedding much as possible.
The wedding presents received were numerous and beautiful, showing the popularity of both the young people. Among them was a handsome silver candelabra from the choir and orchestra of Eastern Methodist church.
It is expected that Mr. Renwick, though considerably better than he was, will be confined to his bed for a couple of days yet and so it may be some little time before he and his bride leave for their western home.4

Canadian Military Service - WWI
Robert Harcourt Anderson M.D. of Toronto began military service on 10 December 1915, He apparently altered his birthdate to appear to be only 39 years old. Later documents in the file reflect his actual age (45 in 1916, born in 1870), at Cobourg, Ontario, Canada, joining the 139th Overseas Battalion, C.E.F.. He was "single" and a Ship's Surgeon M.D. He was described as being 5' 11" and 172 lbs with a fair complexion, blue eyes and grey hair. He was assigned regimental number 814516.4 Robert Harcourt Anderson M.D. ended his military service on 6 September 1916 at Valcartier Camp, Valcartier, Québec, Canada, with valvular heart disease and being overage. It was noted that he only served in Canada. His heart condition began over 15 years earlier while he was in New York city..

Robert H. and Mary Anderson appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Manhattan Borough, New York City, New York County, New York, enumerated 7 June 1900, described as a physician, M.D. that had come to the US in 1886, with alien status. Their daughter, Muriel, was listed as living with them. Mary came to the US in 1896, and reported have had one child, still living. The enumerator listed Muriel as a son.3
The following obituary appeared in the newspaper The Montreal Star published in Montréal, Québec 8 January 1926:

The following analysis is from my personal research and reflects my attempts to consolidate information from different sources.
Although I have no direct evidence, it appears that they separated or were divorced since he was described as single in his WWI military service file, and no relatives were mentioned in his obituary. In the 1920 census, 6 years before his death, she was described as a widow.9
