     The following analysis is from my personal research and reflects my attempts to consolidate information from different sources.

     He was born on 12 August 1862 at Châteauguay, Châteauguay, Canada East, United Province of Canada, but his daughter Matilda's death registration indicates he was born in Renfrew County, Ontario.^11,12,8,10 Alternatively, he may have been born after 5 September 1862 died at the age of 71 years and nine months.⁹ Peter married Victorio Goyea circa 1885 at Ontario, Canada.^12,9,11
     Peter Napoleon Mayhew died on 6 June 1934 at Perry Twp., District of Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada, at age 71 according to Ontario Death Registration 026366.. The informant was Napoleon Mayhew.^9,8 The cause of his death was given as cerebral arterio clerosis, complicated by asthma.⁸
     Peter Napoleon Mayhew was buried on 9 June 1934 at St. Patrick's (RC) Cemetery, Kearney, Perry Twp., District of Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada.^9,8

     Joseph Mayhew died on 16 August 1881 at Renfrew, Horton Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, according to Ontario Death Registration 016802. It notes that he was a farmer, born in Ogdensburg, US, and a Can(adian) Methodist.^11,12,13 The cause of his death was given as "old age" at the age of 83. He had been sick for two weeks.¹³ The informant on his death registration was his son, J. Louis Mayhew.¹³

     Joseph and Charlotte Mayhew appeared on the 1851 Canadian Census (delayed) of Horton Twp., Renfrew County, Canada West, enumerated 12 January 1852. Joseph was described as a farmer, and a Roman Catholic. Their children, Joseph, Ira, John, Charles, Elkanah, Charlotte, Hannah and Lewis, were listed as living with them. The rest of the household was listed as "C Methodist". Their sons, Joseph and Ira were noted as living "out of limits" at Black Creek.²²

Her death was registered in Brudenell Twp., but Peter was of Radcliffe Twp., and the unnamed infant was born in Radcliffe.. The informant was Peter Mayhew.⁶ The cause of her death was given as childbirth after 5 days.⁶
