Friends Pay Tribute To Late J. A. McLachlin
A largely attended funeral service for J. A. McLachlin of 380 Cooper street who died in a local hospital last Sunday, was held in the parlors of George B. Burney and Son, 338 Somerset street west, yesterday afternoon. The solemn service was conducted by the Very Rev. Dr. John W. Woodside.

Born in Arnprior, son of the late Peter McLachlin and Rachel Reed, Mr. McLachlin married the former Margaret Blackburn Gilmour of Almonte in 1900. He was a telegraph operator for many years and for the past 29 years had been employed in the Department of National Defence, Printing and Stationery Branch. He attended Chalmers United church.

Following the funeral service the cortege proceeded to Almonte where the remains will rest in the Auld Kirk vault until spring whe (sic) interment will take place in the local cemetery. Prayers at the vault were conducted by the Rev. J. Scott, of Almonte.

Honorary pallbearers were V. N. Young, Gordon Reid. William Reid and Charles Winmill.2

The death occurred at a local hospital on Tuesday of John Wesley Lockhart, beloved husband of Blanche Lindsay Gilmour. He was in his 59th year.

Born and educated at Almonte, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lockhart, of Almonte. Coming to Ottawa, after living for most of his life in Almonte, he entered the decorating business and became well known here.
Surviving, in addition to his widow, are six brothers, Walter, William and Arthur, of Almonte; Harold, of Carleton Place; Herbert, of Ottawa, and Robert, of Montreal,

The funeral service will be held at the residence of his brother-in-law, J. A. McLachlin, 380 Cooper street, on Thursday, at one o'clock. Interment will be at Auld Kirke cemetery, Almonte.1
