Vows Are Taken By Wilbert Kuehl And Vivian Lee
Wedding vows were taken in the Anglican Church of St. John the Evangelist today by Miss Vivian Ada Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Lee, 42 Grenville Ave., and Mr. Wilbert Ross Kuehl, 216 Mill St., son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Kuehl of Killaloe, Ont. Yellow chrysanthemums graced the altar and ferns banked the chancel steps for the ceremony, performed by Canon H. Mills.
At the organ for the wedding music was Mr. Leonard Grigg of the Church of the Holy Saviour, Waterloo.
The bride, whose father gave her in marriage, wore a white gown of Chantilly lace over taffeta, designed with sweetheart neckline, fullness shirred to a front panel in the fitted bodice and buttons down the back. The long sleeves came to a point over the fingers and the skirt was very full. Her long embroidered veil was caught to a coronet headdress of velvet flowers and lace and she wore a string of pearls, gift of the bridegroom. She carried a cascade of red roses and white chrysanthemums.
Miss Hazel Kuehl, the bridegroom's sister, was maid of honor, wearing a formal gown of pastel green jersey, styled with fitted bodice, tiny puffed sleeves and bouffant skirt. Her halo hat with shoulder-length veil, elbow-length gloves matched her gown and she also wore pearls, gift of the bride. Her flowers were pink chrysanthemums.
Attending his cousin as best man was Mr. Merrill Kuehl. Mr. William Romitz of Bridgeport, cousin of the bride, and Mr. Ralph Lee, brother of the bride, served as ushers.
A dinner was held at the Grand River Tea Rooms, with a reception later at the home of the bride for about 45 guests. The bride's mother chose a gray crepe dress with black sequin trim, black accessories, and corsage of pink carnations. The bridegroom's mother was wearing a navy crepe dress, black accessories and similar corsage.
The bride's travelling ensemble was a green wool dress with gold nailhead trim, dark brown, accessories and cocoa brown coat. On their return from Niagara Falls and points east, Mr. and Mrs. Kuehl will reside at 42 Grenville Ave.3
