     Essie Merella Lisk died in January 1992 at age 93.9
     Her name was also recorded as Essmerelda Lisk on her sons' social security applications.10,11,6
     She was commonly known as Esmerelda.12
     She was commonly known as Essie Panke.2
     Essie Lisk appeared on the 1901 Canadian Census of an unknown place in the household of her parents, William and Mary Lisk.3
     Essie Lisk appeared in the 1911 Canadian Census of North Algona Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario in the household of her parents, William and Mary Lisk.4 Essie Merella Lisk immigrated in 1919 to USA from Canada. This was according to the 1930 census.7 She was listed as a witness to the marriage of Frank David Lora and Anna Mae Lisk on 15 September 1920 at Golden Lake, North Algona Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.12,13,2,14 Essie Merella Lisk crossed the border seeking permanent residence on 31 March 1922 at Port of Buffalo, New York, USA, traveling by train from Pembroke.15,5
     Alexander and Essumerllake Panke appeared on the 1930 U.S. Federal Census of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, enumerated 4 April 1930, described as a foreman in the wholesale dentistry industry.. Their children: Harold M. and Charles O., were listed as living with them.7
     Alex C. and Essmerelda Panke appeared on the 1940 U.S. Federal Census of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, enumerated 15 April 1940, described as a Foreman in a company making Dental Instruments. Their children: Harold E. and Charles O., were listed as living with them. His brother-in-law, Arthur V. Lisk, was listed as a Tool Maker Apprentice in Dental Instruments. He had been living in Golden Lake, Ontario, Canada in 1935. The rest of the household was living in the same place they had lived in in 1935. Both Alex and Essmerelda were naturalized citizens.6
     Esmeralda Lisk (sic) was listed as next-of-kin/contact on the draft registration of Arthur Verner Lisk.16 Essmerelda Panke was naturalized on 19 June 1942 at Northern District, Eastern Division Court, Cleveland, Ohio, USA.5

     He was born on 10 August 1902, The family farm was in North Algona Twp., but the burth was registered in Wilberforce Twp., at Golden Lake, North Algona Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, according to Ontario Birth Registration 038784.5,6,7,3 Alternatively, he may have been born in August 1904 at Ontario, Canada, according to the 1911 census.8,9 Lloyd married Alma P. Meske circa 1929 at Cook County, Illinois, USA, according to the 1930 census. This does not account for their 21 Sep 1933 marriage record (see footnotes below.) The purpose of his crossing was "looking for work". He may have returned to Canada on 26 Oct 1924 based on a stamp on the back of the manifest. The 1930 census gives his year of immigration as 1925.7,11

     John Chester Lora died on 15 December 1931 at Vernon, Osgoode Twp., Carleton County, Ontario, Canada, at age 78 according to Ontario Birth Registration 010385.3 The cause of his death was given as pneumonia pleurisy.3
     John Chester Lora was buried at Spring Hill Cemetery, Ontario, Canada.3 The informant on his death registration was his son.3
     In the obituary of Herman Wilfred Lora who died 18 April 1941, his father, John Lora was listed as predeceased.6
     The following analysis is from my personal research and reflects my attempts to consolidate information from different sources.
It is more likely that his Quebec birthplace given on his marriage registration is more accurate that that given by his son on his death registration.7

     Arthur V. Lisk appeared on the 1940 U.S. Federal Census of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, in the household of Alex C. and Essmerelda Panke, was listed as a Tool Maker Apprentice in Dental Instruments.2
     Arthur Verner Lisk, of Cleveland, registered for the draft on 16 October 1940, at the age of 22. He was employed by the Cleveland Dental Manufacturing Company. He listed his next-of-kin/contact person as his sister (note the use of her maiden name), Esmeralda Lisk (sic). He was described as 5' 10" and 140 lbs with blue eyes, brown hair and a light complexion.11
     In the obituary of William John Lisk who died 28 June 1944, his son, Arthur Lisk in the American Navy, was listed as a survivor.1 He was naturalized on 26 April 1946 at District Court, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, USA.3,12
