CHARMING WEDDING CEREMONY SATURDAY
Marriage of Miss M. L. Wills and Mr. G. G. Mabee
St. Matthew's church. effectively adorned with baskets containing delphiniums and gypsophilla, was the scene of a charming wedding ceremony on Saturday afternoon at half past three o'clock when Miss Margaret Louise Wills, daughter of Mrs. George Fulton of Saint John. N.B. and the late A. Wills, was united in marriage to Mr. George Gibbon Mabee, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Mabee of Ottawa.
Rev. W. W. Davis and Major the Rev. Channel G. Hepburn officiated and the wedding music was played by Dr. John W. Bearder. During the signing of the register Miss Olive Mather sang "Until."
Given in marriage by her brother Mr. John Wills, the bride was attended by Miss Ottilie Swartz 85 bridesmaid. Mr. Hugh Young attended the bridegroom as best and officiating as ushers wereMessrs. N. Parker, Jack Cole, Garfield Green and C. Fox.
Litle (sic) Miss Patricia Young of Toronto, niece of the bridegroom, attended the bride as flower girl.
A stately picture was the bride in her wedding gown with a short jacket of Viennese lace over crepe Mado in Pacifique blue shade. The formal gown was designed on long moulded lines to the knees, the skirt back forming a long graceful train. Tiny braided shoulder straps of Pacifique blue chiffon trimmed the top of the gown. The short jacket was held closely at the waist line with a crushed girdle of lace. The jacket front was prettily draped at the neckline, and fastened at the back with tiny chiffon covered buttons, the loops at neck and girdle leaving an open slit down the centre back. The very full sleeves were held at the wrists with deep fitted cuffs, long points falling gracefully over the hands.
The bride wore transparent model hat in an off-the-face fashion made of the same lace as the gown. Blue and silver sandals completed the bridal costume, and a bouquet of Talisman roses and gypsophilia was carried.
The bridesmaid was wearing a becoming dress of pale pink silk net over pale pink crepe and her leghorn hat was trimmed with pink and blue ribbon and flowers. An arm bouquet of pink carnations and delphiniums was carried.
The flower girl. Miss Patricia Young, was daintily dressed in a frock of jade green georgette with a green Juliet cap and she carried a green basket containing pink roses.
Mrs. Fulton. mother of the bride. was smartly attired in an exclusive print of navy blue and white from Ducharne of Paris. This beltless gown with medium low neckline was cowled in front, with a standing white pleated crepe collar at the back. The ful sleeves were held at the wrists with fitted cuffs, the pleated flares falling over the hands. Mrs. Fulton wore a navy blue summer weight felt hat, the only ornament being a smart rhinestone pin. A corsage bouquet of Sweetheart roses was worn.
Mrs. Mabee, mother of the bridegroom, was wearing a French model gown of blue silk net lace of embossed design of gray leaves. the gown made on Princess lines. A bolero jacket was worn with a smart gray hat and gray accessories. Her corsage bouquet was of pink roses.
Mrs. Frank Young of Toronto, sister of the bridegroom, wore a buttercup yellow organza gown, effectively embroidered in black. Her black hat was of mohair and straw and she wore black accessories. A corsage bouquet of mauve sweet peas was worn.
Immediately following the ceremony at the church, the wedding reception was held at a local tea room where among the guests were the following from out-of-town: Mrs. George Fulton of Saint John, mother of the bride: Mrs. Frank Young of Toronto. sister of the bridegroom, with her daughter, Miss Patricia.
Later Mr. Mabee and his bride left on a motor trip in the linited States and for travelling Mrs. Mabee wore a green boucle suit with a white felt hat and white accessories. On their return, the couple will take up residence at Amos, Que.4
