At the manse of South End Baptist Church on Saturday, September 7th at three o'clock the marriage solemnized by Rev. John Dodds was of Lillian Kathleen Fawcett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Saul Fawcett, and Joseph Houston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Houston.
The bride was attractively dressed in white organza with embossed| flower design, made on long lines with full skirt, sweetheart neckline, and shoulder length veil held in place on her dark hair with a halo of small red rosebuds. She carried a colonial bouquet of red roses and gladioli.
Miss Jean McLeod, the bridesmaid was wearing a floor length gown of pink sheer with shoulder veil of pink net arranged with a halo of flowers. Her nosegay was of gladioli and other flowers in pastel shades with matching ribbon. Frank Payne brother-in-law of the groom was bestman. At the reception for thirty guests at the home of the bride's parents, the two-layer wedding cake ornamented with pink rosebuds and pink and white daisies, pink and white gladioli in a silver basket and matching, candles, in crystal holders bride's table. Pink and white streamers were used to deck the dining room. Assistants were Miss Dorothy Kerton and Miss Gladys Haines.
For the trip to Hamilton and Toronto, bride travelled in a deep rose frock with blue top coat and matching accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Houston will reside in Owen Sound.
Guests from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Farrar and Miss Viola Cottson of Thornbury, Mrs. May Archibald and daughter Betty, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Archibald and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Archibald and Mr. and Mrs. William Archibald, all of Toronto.1
