     Charles Vernon Milne died on 28 March 1957, in a local hospital, at Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, at age 62.3,5
     The following selected information is extracted from the obituary of Charles Vernon Milne.

     Charles Vernon Milne was buried on 31 March 1957 at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.5,3

Family Background:
     The William Milne family came from Park River, North Dakota in 1904, settling in Regina. Earlier, in 1902 he went to the Arelee district to get homestead entries for his oldest son, Arthur, and a friend. In 1905, Arthur was 17 and "old enough" to take up the homestead. The Arelee local history notes that his brothers, Charlie and Howard, and sister "Elinor" spent several sumers there. The boys were baseball players.6
Canadian Military Service - WWI

     Charles Vernon Milne of 5' 9 1/2" with grey eyes, dark hair and a fair complexion was conscripted on 27 June 1918 at Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, joining the 1st Depot Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment. He was an unmarried farmer with no previous military experience. He had taken his military examination in Saskatoon on 17 Oct 1917. He was described as being 3353592. On his conscription papers he listed his next-of-kin as his father, William Milne Asquith P.O..1
     On 28 September 1918, he went on harvest leave, returning about 15 Nov 1918.1 Pte. Charles Vernon Milne ended military service as part of general demobilization on 3 January 1919 at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, having only served in Canada.
