APPOINTMENT
Mrs. Lizzie Darragh, widow of Gilbert Darragh, deceased, has been appointed Tobacco Inspector in place of her husband, who held said office at the time of his death.1,7

The following obituary appeared in the weekly newspaper the Lawrenceburg Press published in Lawrenceburg, Indiana 14 April 1870 :
DIED
In this city, last evening, of consumption, Mrs. Lizzie Darragh, wife of Jet Darragh, deceased and daughter of Mr. John Blair.

A beautiful life has gone out to death, Lizzie Darragh was one o fthe most amiable Christians we knew. After the death of her husband, a few years ago, she was connected with this office, as a compositor, for some six months or more, and we can testigfy to her ladylike dignity and gentleness of character.-- During the last few years of her life she has been a devoted Christian, and on her death bed was permitted to tell her weeping friends something of the glorious visions which she beheld. Oh, that we might all live as pure a life and die as happy a deaath, then might we expect to meet her in that Heaven to which we feel sure she has gone.

Funeral at the Methodist church tomorrow (Friday) at 10 o'clock, A. M.8

The following obituary appeared in the weekly newspaper The Dearborn County Register published in Lawrenceburg, Indiana 29 April 1870 :
It is our sad duty to chronicle the death of Mrs. Lizzie Darragh, who departed this life from the residence of her father (Mr. John Blair) in this city on Wednesday evening, April 13th. Mrs, Darragh was employed in this office for a few months, several years ago, and that she gave entire satisfaction to all concerned, need not be here reiterated. Possessing thos qualities which eminently fitted her for occupying any high station in life, she not only commanded the respect but the esteem of all those who knew her, -- and the society in which she moved has lost an ornament that can never be replaced.

The funeral will take place at the Methodist Church this (Friday) morning, at 10 o'clock.4
