Many friends of Mr. and Mrs. William Noack, of Shady Nook, gave them a surprise party by way of celebrating the 25th anniversary of their marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Noack received a large number of beautiful gifts in silver and Rev. H. Landsky made an address of congratualtion and good wishes. Mr. and Mrs. Noack were married in Wilberforce Township and lived for several years on a farm in Stafford. They have kept store at Shady Nook for the past 12 years.14

PEMBROKE, June 23
... The store of Wm. Noack and Son at Shady Nook, four miles south of Pembroke, was broken into during the night and about $10 wasstolen from the till, along with a few packages of cigarets and some pipe tobacco.

Wm. Layman's blacksmith shop across the road also was entereed and an iron bar taken. The bar, however, was not used toforce the door of the store, which was entered by breaking a window at the bck of the building.

Mr. Layman discovered early this morning that his shop had been entered and told Mr. Noack, who then found he, too, had been robbed.

The robberies are being investigated by Provincial Constable E. V. McNeill.17

     The following information is extracted from his obituary. Survivor(s): Marie Kritsch, William Noack, Henry Noack, Mrs Edward Radke, Annie Noack and Mrs Oscar Brisenthal (sic). Predeceased: Christian Noack and Mrs John Noack.9 He died on 22 November 1945 at home in 12 Melrose Avenue, Ottawa, Carleton County, Ontario, CanadaG, at age 72 according to Ontario Death Registration 066041. His occupation was given as a fireman for the C.P.R. who last worked in 1937.12,2,9,13 The informant on his death registration was his wife, Marie Noack. John Noack Dies In Ottawa at 73
A former C.P.R. engineer and resident of Ottawa since 1900, John Noack, of 12 Melrose avenue, died last night at the age of 73.

Mr. Noack was a native of Stafford township, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Noack. He came to live in Ottawa early in 1900, and was an employe (sic) of the Canadian Pacific Railway until his retirement in 1937.

Mr. Noack was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Firemen and Engineers, No. 172. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his widow, the former Marie Kritsch, two brothers, William and Henry of Shady Nook, and three sisters, Mrs. Edward Radke, Miss Annie Noack and Mrs. Oscar Brisenthal (sic), all of Pembroke.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Hulse and Playfair Ltd., on Saturday at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. M. J. Michael officiating. The body will then be taken to Pembroke and will be at the home of his brother, Henry, until Sunday afternoon. A service will be conducted by Rev. George Herbst in Grave Lutheran Church, Locksley. Interment will be in Locksley cemetery.9

     Kathryn was born on 5 January 1941 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, USAG.3 The cause of her death was given as ovarian cancer for two years.3 The informant on her death registration was her husband, Her parents were identified as Russell L York and Beaulah Marie Johnson.3 She died on 14 October 2002 in Bargersville, Johnson County, Indiana, USAG, at age 61.3 Kathryn Ann York was buried on 17 October 2002 in Mount Pleasant (AKA Glenns Valley) Cemetery, Greenwood, Johnson County, Indiana, USAG.3

     She of Bagersville, IN was the informant on the death registration of her grandmother, Vena Vesta Sanders who died after 3 April 1981.2
